Injection Molding FAQ

This manufacturing process plays a core role across numerous industries, including volume production of aerospace equipment, medical devices, consumer goods, energy equipment, electronic components, automotive parts, robot structural parts, and children's toys.

After mold acceptance and T1 sample confirmation, mass production begins. Standard volume orders typically have a production lead time of 10 to 15 business days.

We stock mainstream commodity resins and engineering plastics, covering most standard injection molding needs. For special performance requirements, custom material formulations can also be arranged.

In most cases yes, provided the materials belong to the same resin family — for example, switching between different grades of ABS. Different colors of the same resin can also be injected in the same mold. Switching to glass-filled materials or other significantly different polymers may raise compatibility issues; our engineering team will help evaluate adjustments. Orders involving material or color changes will incur additional purging and changeover fees.

Injection molds produced on the KH-TAT platform are fully owned by the contracting client. After production is complete, we store the molds on your behalf. If you need them shipped to a designated location, we can arrange delivery — shipping and packaging costs are the client's responsibility. If you have concerns about compatibility with your existing injection equipment, our technicians will assist with compatibility verification.

Final shipping costs are determined after order placement. We calculate based on actual shipping warehouse location, destination, part dimensions, package volume, and weight. You can use your DHL, UPS, or FedEx corporate account for direct billing, or we can arrange shipping and provide a freight quote.

Once the order is confirmed, manufacturing engineers first review the technical documentation, then assign a dedicated project manager and select suitable manufacturing partners. We prepare a complete DFM analysis and quote review report for your confirmation. After approval, the mold machining phase begins; once complete, T1 samples are shipped for your inspection. Upon sample confirmation, volume production starts.
